Since moving up from Southern California in 1999 after graduate school, Richard’s professional emphasis has been in the field of orthopedic rehabilitation & sports training. Before Action Sports Medicine, he worked at Northern California Physical Therapy in Pacific Heights & CPMC (Mission-Campus). During his tenure at CPMC he also served as a Clinical Instructor for UCSF graduate students. His passion for helping others achieve their full potential in their sport or endeavor inherently comes from his lifelong commitment to stay on the cutting edge of sports medicine in order to continue enjoying the great outdoors. Richard states that his short-term goals are merely established in order to accomplish his primary long term goal – to be the fearless 80 year-old mountain biker still having a blast on the trails! How do I schedule appointments?
No, we offer self-pay rates which make self-referrals an option. But, in order for your health benefits to be applied, insurances require a physician referral with a clearly written diagnosis. Do you accept clients without insurance coverage? Yes! We offer self-pay rates. Please call or e-mail for our rate information. After approximating the amount of services needed for your condition we can provide you with an estimate. How long does it take to get my custom orthotics? Approximately 3-4 weeks before we get them back from the laboratory Do you accept insurance reimbursement for orthotic therapy? Unfortunately no.
